Fincham and the Finchams

Welcome to the web site devoted to all those whose surname is Fincham! Our ancestors came from the village of Fincham in Norfolk, England. The name is Anglo-Saxon, and probably means "the home with the finches" (though you may find another explanation if you explore the site). If your name is Finchum or Flinchum or Finchem, these are different spellings of the same name, and you are just as welcome. If you live in Fincham, or have an interest in the village and its history, you are welcome too.

What's new ? (August 2008)

• There is a new page about the descendents of Alfred Fincham who was the last Fincham to be listed in the pedigrees in Blyth's book. Alfred died in 1862, the year Blyth's book was published. The information comes from Gary Fincham-Turner, a great grandson of Alfred. Gary has also provided pictures of some seals of the Fincham Arms which were passed down from Alfred.
